Activist, Educator, and Founder of Christopher Street Tours
From a young age, Michael Venturiello has believed in the power of representation and and visibility of history through story telling. A writer by nature, Michael has spent much of his time sharing stories and uplifting voices from those who paved the way before us. After moving to New York City in 2016, Michael wanted to bring the historical stories of the LGBTQ Movement to life in an easy to understand and accessible way.
Launched during Pride 2018, Michael created Christopher Street Tours: New York City's premiere experience for LGBTQ tours and experiences. This includes LGBTQ history walking tours, workshops and trainings, and speaking engagements about LGBTQ history, activism, social justice, and entrepreneurship. On his tours, Michael has hosted thousands of people from all across the world with an interest in learning more about LGBTQ history and activism today.
Michael has been featured in Metrosource magazine, Attitude magazine, and ProudOut.com. He has worked with groups including HuffPost, Yahoo, HBO, Teach for America, New York University, and more. Michael was also featured on FindSpark's list of "Top LGBTQ+ Influencers & Thought Leaders Transforming the Workplace Through Innovation and Impact," as well as Eventbrite’s “5 to Follow: LGBTQIA+ Event Organizers in NYC for Pride and Beyond.”
Currently, Michael lives in NYC and is working on publishing a novel about the Stonewall Uprising.
